WhatsApp enhances has just rolled out an exciting update, introducing a new feature that allows users to tag other accounts in their Status updates. This enhancement aims to elevate the user experience and interaction within the app.
Tagging in Status Updates
WhatsApp’s Status feature operates similarly to Instagram’s Stories, enabling users to share photos and videos that disappear after 24 hours. To access your Status, simply navigate to the News section (bottom left) and select Status. With this update, users can now tag up to five other WhatsApp accounts in their Status. The tagged users will have the ability to repost the Status on their own accounts, fostering greater engagement.
Importantly, users can tag others without displaying their usernames directly in the Status.
Introducing Status Likes
Another noteworthy addition is the ability to like Status updates. Users can express their appreciation with a simple tap on the new green heart 💚, aligning with WhatsApp’s signature color. These likes are private, meaning only the status owner can see who liked their content.
Additional Innovations in WhatsApp enhances
WhatsApp is also set to launch new camera filters and backgrounds for video calls, offering users a selection of twenty different effects. Users can further enhance their creativity by combining various layers to create custom filters.
New Camera Filters and Backgrounds
In addition to the tagging and liking features, WhatsApp has rolled out new camera filters and backgrounds for video calls. With over 20 effect options, users can personalize their video call experience or create their own custom filters.
Why Are These Updates Exciting?
These features enhance user experience, allowing more engagement through Status updates. The green hearts make it easier to show appreciation, while the tagging feature connects users more closely.
